The van Zweel residence is one of several homes in a high-end Cape Town estate built with Aertec AAC. The homeowners selected AAC after seeing the material used on neighbouring houses in the estate, convinced by the combination of thermal performance, acoustic insulation, and the speed with which the walls were completed.
At 400–600 kg/m³, Aertec AAC is approximately one quarter the weight of clay brick, enabling faster laying and reduced structural loads throughout the building. The material's precision dimensions ensure straight, plumb walls that take a premium plaster finish efficiently.
The growing number of AAC-built homes within this estate demonstrates the material's strong word-of-mouth reputation among high-end homebuilders in the Western Cape.
