Green Building

What is Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC)

AAC was invented in 1924 and has achieved a vast footprint of application throughout the world. Notably in Europe with the rebuilding of infrastructure following the devastation of the 2nd World War, but also latterly throughout the Near and Far East, as the growing demand for infrastructure requires building technology able to satisfy the demand for high quality material, which could be rapidly constructed, at lower cost, is environmentally friendly, seismologically resilient, and thermodynamically superior to other materials. AAC presents all of these benefits and is now present throughout the world.

AAC is made from abundant natural raw materials: sand, cement, lime, and gypsum and extensively used in residential, commercial and industrial construction. AAC has a market penetration of 60% in Germany, 40% in the UK and the majority of all high rise in China.

Autoclaved Aerated Concrete, also known as AAC, is a lightweight, high-insulating, durable building product, which can be produced in a wide range of sizes and strengths.

Exceptional accuracy and ease of handling allows for very fast construction with AAC. AAC is also recognized as a “green” building material.
