Pilates Studio – Claremont

The client was looking for an alternative building product which is lightweight, inexpensive and quick to erect, as the timeline to construct the studio was very short. The client also needed a product that is solid in structure, and presents the required fire rating as well as acoustic properties compared to high end dry walling systems. The client wanted to avoid using high end dry walling as it has proven to be expensive compared to Aertec AAC.

The client wanted a smooth finish which AAC provides due to the dimensional accuracy of the blocks. A 3mm thick gypsum skim coat was applied directly to the raw AAC walls. There was no requirement for a plaster undercoat due to the accuracy of the AAC blocks. This was a cost benefit to the client.
